Николаю Шорохову 12 декабря 2009 года исполняется ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ ЛЕТ.

Предлагаю тем, кто его знает, уважает и любит, вспомнить какой-нибудь эпизод с участием Намба Вана. Пусть это будет такой СМАРТМОБ в честь именинника: несколько добрых слов или просто фото.

К началу польских соревнований мы только что отлетали в болгарском Сопоте Рашен Оупен "КризисФак" и были очень хорошо подготовлены к борьбе со 130 сильными и опытными спортсменами со всего мира. Для своего первенства поляки традиционно выбирают удобное время года и интересные места, не скованные государственными границами и номенклатурными ограничениями, поэтому их соревнования всегда собирают сильный состав и имеют высокий рейтинг. Так было и на этот раз. Организаторы не поскупились и проплатили болгарским синоптикам отличную сильную погоду - такую, что позволила ставить интереснейшие задачи с неоднократными перелетами долин и хребтов. Даже я, после длительного перерыва в полетах, умудрялся финишировать практически каждый день, летая не на спортивном, а очень даже детском аппарате и после 4,5 часового полета (я не тормоз! я не тормоз!) проверяя показания вариометра, регулярно наблюдал не менее +8 м/с (в забросах).

Наблюдая такое положение дел, организаторы перетерли с продажными синоптиками и таки включили встречный ветер в один из крайних соревновательных дней, чтобы отсеять наглых чайников на матрасах и дать наконец-то возможность выйти вперед тому, кому надо.
С первого дня Николай захватил лидерство и не отпускал его до самого финиша. Стороннему наблюдателю могло показаться, что для Шорохова это не требовало каких-то серьезных усилий... И это правда, Намба Ван летал настолько уверенно и стабильно хорошо, что помешать ему могла только случайность в виде погодной лотереи с отменой тасков, но трусливые коррумпированные синоптики, побоявшись русской мафии, не рискнули включить дожди, так что бороться предстояло лишь с помощью мастерства, тактики да длинного акселя...
Но как ни тужились соперники, пытаясь нагнать Русскую Ракету на пределе возможностей своих аппаратов, для этого им надо было выйти за пределы....
Вспоминаю один из тасков: я, взмыленный многочасовой гонкой, с трясущимися рученками, затекшими ногами, пересохшим горлом и переполненным мочевым пузырем падаю за финишной чертой, наблюдаю за другими расползающимися финишерами и не вижу Шорова?! Как же так? Мы же болеем за нашего лидера! Где это он? Неужто обманул надежды? Ведь по пятям за ним гонятся Ясин Савов и братья Выпарины! Одна ошибка и превед…
И тут мне говорят: "А Колян, финишировав, как обычно в числе лидеров, снова выкрутил и полетел домой, чтобы не ждать подбора"...
Вот гад! Мы тут жопу рвем, до финиша бы доползти, а он!...
И тут мне стало понятно: чтобы выигрывать секунды в современной гонке, нужно иметь такой запас прочности, чтобы не зависеть от случайностей и быть на голову сильней соперников. Даже если они отсиделись на хвосте по маршруту, им не поможет финишный спурт с выдавливанием акселя до отказа, ведь это риск: сложит - не сложит, чихнет - не чихнет, как повезет.

На награждении Николаю аплодировали стоя, аплодисменты превратились в бурные овации. Его победа была демонстрацией такого мастерства, когда
стирается грань между спортом и высоким искусством. Мне кажется, все были искренне счастливы присутствовать в этот миг триумфа великого мастера.

Мне повезло немного больше других: я не только наблюдал Коляна в небе, но также изучал тайные секреты и участвовал при тренировках мастера.

Каждый вечер после финиша, когда другие только вытягивали ноги после трудного дня, мы, не щадя живота своего, независимо от погоды и не взирая на усталость, работали над тактикой и стратегией, напрягали мышцы желудка и печени, а главное - голову… а еще мы в нее ели 8-) :

Там, в Кыштате каждый вечер я видел человека постигшего Дао и Де.
